From St Alban: [~7 minutes] From St Albans main high street travel north: Follow the A1081 out of St Albans and signposted to Harpenden. As you come into Harpenden, just past a pub, turn left to follow Leyton Road behind the green (don't turn too early onto the B487). The Legion will shortly come up on your left (just before the Inn On The Green PH). There is a car park behind the Legion with access from the front left.

From Hatfield: [~16 minutes] From A1 junction-4, exit on to the A6129 north for about 1/2 a mile to the Stanborough roundabout. Take a left which immediately takes you underneath the A1. On the other side take the third exit on the B653 signposted to Lemsford, Wheathampstead and Harpenden. At the next roundabout take the right fork (2nd exit) on the B653. At the next roundabout (Wheathampstead ) go straight over, and continue for a few miles. Next roundabout (Batford) go straight over. Pass a tiny Tesco (with filling station) on your left, and immediately after this turn left at the mini roundabout into Station Road. Follow this to the end in Harpenden town centre. At the mini roundabout the Harpenden Arms is on the left on the corner. In front of you set back behind the green slightly to the left you should be able to see the Legion with our banner. Go across the roundabout and bare left and you'll see the Legion appear on your right next to the Inn On The Green PH. There is a car park behind the Legion with access from the front left. The journey is easier than it sounds.

From Hertford: [~24 minutes] Take the A414 east towards Hatfield. Keep going until you reach junction 4 of the A1. Take the 4th exit on to the A6129 and travel north for about 1/2 a mile to the Stanborough roundabout. Take a left which immediately takes you underneath the A1. From Hitchin: [~20 minutes] Take the A505 west to Luton. As you come into Luton turn left at the second roundabout, still following the A505. Keep going straight over roundabouts until this road becomes the A1081. When you get to the M1(J10A) trunk road follow the A1081 left to Harpenden (don't go straight on down the trunk road). Keep going straight until you go through Harpenden high street. As you are about to exit Harpenden on the other side, turn right at the mini roundabout (Harpenden Arms is on the left just ahead of your turn, and Pizza Express on the right). The Legion is in view and set back behind the green. Bare left and you'll see the Legion appear on your right next to the Inn On The Green PH. There is a car park behind the Legion with access from the front left.

From London via A1: [~17 minutes from M25] Travel north on the A1 to junction 4 (about 3-4 minutes from crossing the M25). Exit and cross the A1. From London via M1: [~17 minutes from M25] Travel north on the M1 to junction 9: turn right onto the A5183 (signposted to Redbourne). After about 2 miles turn left at the next roundabout on to the B487 (signposted to Harpenden). At the next roundabout (~1.5 miles) turn left (north) onto the A1081 towards Harpenden town. After a short distance (900m) turn left into Leyton Rd and follow the road behind the green. The Legion will shortly come up on your left (just before the Inn On The Green PH). There is a car park behind the Legion with access from the front left.

From Milton Keynes: [~25 minutes from M1-J14] Travel south on the M1 and exit at junction 10: there is short link road to a roundabout where you turn right (third exit) on to the A1081. Follow this to Harpenden. Cross the mini just before entering Harpenden main high street, drive through the town centre, and when you come to the second mini roundabout at the other end turn right. Immediately bare left onto Leyton Road, and the Legion is immediately on your right (just next to the Inn On The Green PH). Turn right into the car park (access from the front left) situated behind the Legion.

From Watford: [~24 minutes] Get on the M1 and travel north. At junction 9 turn right onto the A5183 (signposted to Redbourne). After about 2 miles turn left at the next roundabout on to the B487 (signposted to Harpenden). At the next roundabout (~1.5 miles) turn left (north) onto the A1081 towards Harpenden town. After a short distance (900m) turn left into Leyton Rd and follow the road behind the green. The Legion will shortly come up on your left (just before the Inn On The Green PH). There is a car park behind the Legion with access from the front left. [There is an alternative route through St Albans, but it is more complicated and no quicker.]

From Welwyn: [~14 minutes] From Stanborough roundabout (at the bottom of the hill from the Gosling Sports Centre): From the direction of WGC go straight over the roundabout which immediately takes you underneath the A1. On the other side take the third exit on the B653 signposted to Lemsford, Wheathampstead and Harpenden. At the next roundabout take the right fork (2nd exit) on the B653. At the next roundabout (Wheathampstead ) go straight over, and continue for a few miles. Next roundabout (Batford) go straight over. Pass a tiny Tesco (with filling station) on your left, and immediately after this turn left at the mini roundabout into Station Road. Follow this to the end in Harpenden town centre. From Potters Bar: [~22 minutes] Take the A111 towards Enfield to junction 24 of M25. M25 travel west (anticlockwise) signposted Watford/Heathrow etc. At junction 22 (M25/A1081/B556) leave motorway and take 3rd exit on to A1081. Keep following A1081 signposted to St Albans. When you get to St Albans keep following the A1081 through St Albans [at some point there is a right turn at a roundabout with the public house "The Peahen", but this is still following the A1081]. Follow the A1081 out of the other side of St Albans and now signposted to Harpenden. As you come into Harpenden, just past a pub, turn left to follow Leyton Road behind the green (don't turn too early onto the B487). The Legion will shortly come up on your left (just before the Inn On The Green PH). There is a car park behind the Legion with access from the front left.
